That’s right my friends, Tickets to the 2009 Cubs Convention have sold out.  On the first day.  In 24 Minutes.

Whoa!  Really?  If you were wondering whether a lot of Cubs fans would be jumping ship after the sorry end to the 2008 season, you of course were wrong.  But you know that wouldn’t happen, because you didn’t jump ship either.  Oh sure, you thought about it but you know where you’ll be at this summer drinking Old Style.

Everything you need to know about the 2009 Cubs Convention:

When:  Friday, January 16 through Sunday, January 18, 2009

Where:  The Hilton Chicago – 720 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL

Map: The Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Ave

Hours: Friday 3 PM to 9 PM, Saturday 9 AM to midnight, and Sunday 9 AM to 1 PM.

What is the Cubs Convention?  The biggest gathering of Hardcore Delusional Cubs Fans that you will ever find. Sure there’s more fans at Wrigley but at the convention we’re talking about DIEHARDS.  I mean, what kind of person would pay $60 to meet the team after another playoff loss.  DIEHARDS!  You will get to hang out with delusional Cubs fans all weekend. You have access to autograph sessions and photos sessions with the players.  There will be vendors, merchandise booths, collectables.  There will be the popular question and answer seminars with players and management including Lou Pinella and Jim Hendry.  All weekend you’ll have the opportunity to meet current Cubs players and past legends. You will be among the most hardcore Cubs fans anywhere.

Hot Tip: You have got to hang out at the Hilton’s bar Kitty O’Shea’s!  For one thing, you’re going to want to have a cocktail and hang out with the fans.  For another, you’re guaranteed to have some Cubs players come into the bar to do the same.  Why settle for just an autograph when you can have a beer with your favorite player?  Also, hang out in the lobby late in the evening and you’re sure to catch players coming back to the hotel and they’ll always say hi or sign an autograph.
