June 14, 2009 was Chicago Cubs American Girl Apparel giveaway at Wrigley Field.  Doll sized Chicago Cubs apparel was given away free to the first 4,000 girls aged 14 and under.  It was a big hit with fans of the the Cubbies and American Girl dolls and the collectors have been trying to get their hands on these limited edition American Girl Cubs outfits.

I don’t get the American Girl trend in the least but I’m obviously not anywhere near being the target market of this kind of product.  I just kind of scratch my head and wonder if one day my daughter will be asking me for this when she’s older.  As I will be saying for years to come: “Ask your grandmother”.
