The Chicago Cubs Legends Great Games Edition includes eight games that will be well known to any Cubs fan who has been following the Cubs for the last three decades. These are great all time moments in Cubs baseball history.
Eight complete Cubs games include:
- The Ryne Sandberg Game June 23, 1984, 5 for 6, 2 HR, 7 RBI
- Rick Sutcliffe pitches 1984 NLCS Game 1, no earned runs allowed, one home run hit
- Andre Dawson hits 3HR in a game August 1, 1987
- Mark Grace stars in the 1989 NLCS Game 2, 3-4, 4 RBI
- Rookie Kerry Wood strikes out 20 batters on May 6, 1998
- Sammy Sosa hits home runs number 61 and 62 on September 13, 1998
- Greg Maddux wins 300th career victory on August 7, 2004
- Derrek Lee goes 5 for 5, 1 home run, 4 RBI on June 1, 2005
It’s a great way to relive those moments if you’re like me and saw every one of these games live on TV when they happened. If you haven’t been watching long enough to see all these games then you can see what made these games so legendary and also enjoy listening to Harry Caray as well.
I remember the “Ryne Sandberg Game” at the time being the most exciting game I had ever seen, especially since Ryno was my favorite player at the time. I also remember Sammy Sosa chasing the home run record and of course the Kerry Wood 20 strikeout game which was awesome. About the only thing that’s not on I here that I miss is the Carlos Zambrano no hitter but you can’t have everything I guess.
This DVD set is definitely a winner for diehard Cubs fans, delusional and otherwise.
GO CUBS!
