Cubs Win in Extras After Coming Back from Seven Runs Down

The Cubs celebrate two games in a row

Keep It Up Guys!

Another exciting win today for the Chicago Cubs!  I don’t have time for a full post but let’s just say today’s game vs the Cleveland Indians ended happily.  The Cubs were seven runs down by the fifth inning but still came back to tie up the game in the ninth and then win it in the tenth.  A few days ago seven runs down would have seemed like an automatic loss but after these last two games, the Cubbies are showing some life and comeback spirt.  I like it!  I’m sure we all do.

Derrek Lee hit two home runs, including the one in the ninth that tied the game off of ex-teammate and Cub Kerry Wood who was back at Wrigley Field for the first time since the Cubs let him go as a free agent.  Ryan Theriot got the game winning hit off of another ex-Cub Luis Vizcaino.   Soriano singled and stole second which set up the game winner.  Andres Blanco even rewarded Pinella for the start (he listened to my advice) with an important two run single and a defensive gem.  The bullpen didn’t give up a single run in five innings of relief.  Maybe this team really is starting to come together.  Lets hope the hitting funk is really over.

Go Cubs!
