Cubs Win Seven in a Row and Draw Comparisons to 1908 World Champs

This is Next Year

This is really starting to feel really good. As a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, I have not had the opportunity to bask in the glory of a good winning streak as often as I would have liked. So yeah, winning seven games in a row feels real good.

Even while I was on vacation in Michigan last weekend, I just had to find a radio to listen to the game because you can feel that something special is going on. Friday’s historic come from behind win by the Cubs just made me feel even more delusional.

The Cubs finished their homestand a perfect 7-0 by sweeping the Dodgers and the defending National League champion Rockies. They won all those games and looked good doing it. Good pitching, timely hitting, come from behind wins and all around solid play. This is the first time the Chicago Cubs have swept a seven game home stand since 1970, back when our pal Ron Santo was still patrolling 3rd base. That’s 38 years ago in case you’ve had to many Old Style Fan Cans to do the math. So please my friends, enjoy this streak while it lasts!

As good as that piece of trivia is, it’s nothing compared to this: The last time the Chicago Cubs had the best record in baseball was in 1908 - the last time they won the World Series.

Oh yeah. Feel that omen and love it. The baseball gods are shining on Chicago.

The Cubs are

And one more I forgot to mention: The Chicago Cubs have the best record in baseball right now.

Savor it my friends.
