Spring is on the Way!  Summer is on the Way!

Soon it will be warm.

After yet another cold, snowy and windy Chicago winter, we look forward to the changing of the season.  We watch the rebirth of life as the city and suburbs turn from brown back into green.  The days get longer.  The sun shines.  The temperature rises.

Soon there will be baseball. We’ve spent the winter talking about Cubs free agent trades and rumors. We’ve tried to find other things to think about.  Some of us have anguished over Chicago’s mediocre football and basketball teams.  Some of us tried to watch hockey but that didn’t really work for me.   I could not stop thinking about summer baseball.

Now it’s almost time for the real anguish to begin; the crushing anguish that only the Chicago Cubs can give to the ones who love them most, the fans.

Oh but wait…. I’m getting ahead of myself.  Still stinging from  getting swept by the Dodgers I guess. That’s a long way off still hopefully.

No, no.  This is spring!! Hope is in the air! The Chicago Cubs have a great team heading into the season.  They’ve got a team that will be favored by almost everyone to win a third straight Central Division Championship.

Things are looking good.  This team won 97 games last year.  If the Cubs are healthy and firing on all cylinders, they will be tough for anyone to beat.  They’ve got talent and Cubbie Swagger.  The Cubs are going to be fun to watch.

It’s going to be a great summer.
